Where is the best place to find work and apartments in Atlanta,GA?
I'm about to move to Atlanta. My school is in Buckhead and I am on a limited budget. I need to find a place to live that is close to buckhead and full of jobs.

Buckhead is your best bet, housing in Ga is out of line, with there job market. You might be better off to stay at the dorm if you can. There are a lot of professional jobs but not a good market for run of the mill jobs.

The suburb of Chamblee is very nice & just 10 mi.north of the Coca-Cola landmark on I 85 North. Gated apartment communities there are very reasonable w/ pools & community centers for kids. Buckhead is a few miles closer uptown, but much more expensive ! Northern suburbs are better than others, if only for the fact that Hartsfield International (the world's busiest airport) is located south of Atlanta !

There are many great down down areas to live in, I used to live on Peachtree St in one of the Apartment Buidlings. Also there are new construction in many area where they are talking old buildings, tearing them down and putting up new homes. Many have tax incentives to move in. But on that hand also I would not send my kids to public school there. But there are several good private schools.

Where can i find an ir repeater that will work with my scientific atlanta 8300hd receiver?
I am going to put all my dvd players and tv receivers in a small cabinet. i was looking for a ir repeater system but the only one that really came up was one from SmartHome. They said that their product would not be compatible with a scientific atlanta box. i tried looking for another ir repeater so i can put all my players and receivers away. Please help me. any help with help. Thank you!

If I live in Atlanta, Georgia but work overseas, do I still have to pay state taxes?
I am about to move to Georgia but the company that I work for is based out of St. Petersburg, Florida and the work is done overseas. Do I have to pay state taxes in Georgia or Florida? Is it based on my residence or where I work?

Since you will be setting up a residence in GA, you are a GA resident and must pay GA state income taxes on your world-wide income. FL has no state income tax, so if setting up residence in FL is an option that would make more sense from an income tax perspective. There may be other reasons that GA is a better option such as lower sales and property taxes or non-tax reasons known only to you.

Companies to work for in Atlanta?
I want to move to Atlanta. I currently live in a town about 2 hours away. I have been applying for jobs for the past year and no luck. I get an interview, but not a job. Where should I apply..and any good interviewing tips for getting into Atlanta would also be appreciated!

If you are waiting to move until you have a job, I would suggest moving first and finding a job once you are there. That may even be what is holding you back. They are more likely to hire someone with a local address (who can start immediately if needed) than someone who will need to relocate before starting work. Once you are there you could just start with the lowest cost place that suits your needs and find one of the many "throw-away" jobs until you find a good permanent job. Then once you have a good job, you can find a better place to live. This would be my personal suggestion if I were in your shoes. As for companies, theres so many, but a good bet is to check down with Delta and look at airport jobs. I worked in the travel and airline industry when I was in Atlanta. Check with Delta Global Services/Delta Staffing Services too. Also look with temp to hire places....thats a very good way to start out.

The state's is www.thejobsite.org The Febs...do a search at www.usajobs.gov Assume you know about ajcjobs.com and careerbuilders.com Job fairs are a frequent event...and a good place to apply for jobs....the Department of Labor might help...there is one on Covington Highway and one on N Druid Hills Road...ask about job fairs and Workforce Development programs.... Teen jobs are extremely hard to find this summer. With 10 % of the parents are out of work, it's really hard to find a job for an inexperienced teen. I would check grocery stores, fast food chains and retail stores, that's really all there is and very few of them are hiring.

Well you could try the following Emory Piedmont Saint Joseph Hopsital of Atlanta Grady Northside Hospital Grady was going through a rough patch with accumulating debt. However, they are right now in the middle of being under new management and fixing that problem. They seem to be doing very well so far. I like Emory and I've heard good reviews about Saint Joseph. You could try going to the outskirts of Atlanta and picking up places in Forsyth Co, Gwinnett Co, or even Athens (Clarke Co).
