Check out Smyrna. It's easily accessible to 75 and 285. (Both highways get to the airport in not much time.) The area was gentrified a number of years ago, and boasts a lot of great things: well-attended free summer concerts, a lovely library and community center -- with free gym for residents, good shopping ... and a diversity of cultures. I was very happy there.

Peachtree City, Newnan are close to the airport and are decent areas. I would stay away from College Park, East Point & Hapeville they aren't safe areas even though they are fairly close to the airport. If you don't mind a bit of a drive maybe check out Decatur, Smyrna, Vinings, Sandy Springs, Norcross and Stone Mountain.

Peachtree City is a wonderful small town just south of the airport. A lot of pilots and airport workers live there.

Our God is a good God...he is a forgiving God. Please go to www.thebossisfired.com and then e-mail me at byebyeretailtravel@yahoo.com We have plenty of room for educated people no matter what past circumstances are. If you have less than 500.00 I will help you with supplies. We are a 6 yr old company publically traded, and we change peoples lives one day at a time. If you have the gift to speak to people and ask something as simple as "do you travel?" You can do this business! I've been doing this business for 7 months and have earned in excess of mid 5 figures. e-mail me at byebyeretailtravel@yahoo.com

My roommate's boyfriend is an ex felon. He walked around a mall all day just to find a good job, and he got one. A lot of companies will overlook your criminal history in favor of a good personality and an obvious desire to improve yourself. I suggest applying for a job at as many places as you can, even if you don't think that you'll get the position. I live in the Atlanta metro area as well, this is why I answered your question. Atlanta is full of individual business owners who would rather have quality help, regardless of criminal history. Luckily, we live in the South which is pretty much a Bible belt. Many business owners believe in forgiveness and second chances. I strongly suggest for you to just go for it, and apply for jobs at as many places as possible.

I believe that once you have paid your debt to society, that should be the end of it. Unfortunately, employers don't always see it that way. I suggest you start a home business. I have one in health and wellness, and everyone starts out on a level playing field. Your past is just that, yours. No one else needs to know. If you are willing to roll up your sleeves, and really apply yourself, you can be financially secure in a very short period of time with the help of an entire team that will help you every step of the way. Training is done by telephone, we have nightly meetings that are optional but I always listen in. We also have several websites where you can listen in to recorded meetings that are of interest to you. I have seen people earn more than $2000 their first month and others in their second. Those with their back to the wall seem to try the hardest to find a way to become financially free and we help them every way we can. If you are interested in joining a company that is very integral and very cutting edge, I welcome you to join me and I will show you how to achieve whatever you need.
