Where to live in Atlanta when you work downtown and have a 5yr old?
I'll be working in the Coca-Cola building.

The suburb of Chamblee is very nice & just 10 mi.north of the Coca-Cola landmark on I 85 North. Gated apartment communities there are very reasonable w/ pools & community centers for kids. Buckhead is a few miles closer uptown, but much more expensive ! Northern suburbs are better than others, if only for the fact that Hartsfield International (the world's busiest airport) is located south of Atlanta !

There are many great down down areas to live in, I used to live on Peachtree St in one of the Apartment Buidlings. Also there are new construction in many area where they are talking old buildings, tearing them down and putting up new homes. Many have tax incentives to move in. But on that hand also I would not send my kids to public school there. But there are several good private schools.
