About Is it possible to find work in Atlanta without a degree

Is it possible to find work in Atlanta without a degree?
I am soon to be moving to Atlanta and would like to know if it is possible to find good work in atlanta or the surrounding areas without having a college degree? Not Mc Donalds and not minimum wage. I'm from San Francisco and have had plenty of jobs without a college degree. I work for a law firm now and make over 30,000 a year.

Yes, they have Mcdonalds too.

Of course they have a lot of minimum wage jobs in Atlanta.

If not McDonalds, there is always the post office... or you could do general production on an assembly line. Way to strive for mediocrity.

How about journalism?

Great, sounds like you're ready to roll! There are lots of Law Firms here in Atlanta. Whether you're an urbanite or a Surburbanite. Check with temporary agencies specializing in legal support jobs. I'm not sure the pay is the same, of course you area aware everything is going to be less expensive here in Atlanta, however, I suspect you can earn atleast comparable to what you were earning! Good Luck and if you'll be visting before moving check this site to book your travel, exceptional rates: www.FiveStarRoyalTravel.com Good Luck!

Sure it is depending on your experience. Just remember that Atlanta's cost of living is less than San Fran's so 30K will go a little farther here. http://www.ajcjobs.com Thats a good place to get started.

There are plenty of jobs that can be acquired without a college degree. It might be a tedious search but it can be done. Try sticking to law since you have the experience and also consider: Human Resources, Real Estate, Medical Administration Services and Administrative Services/Support. To get ahead of the game you can get a recruiter and keep your eye on job sites for openings in the area. Try web sites such as Monster, Career Builder and/or others. And the honest truth is 30K in Cali - with the high cost of living for Cali that's not really much of a salary....in other places that's comparable to 24-28K. So that's probably what you can expect to receive in offers. But that just an estimate and it depends on your experience and references. If you obtain a headhunter recruiter they might be able to pull a higher salary for you.
